On the morning of 3rd April, 2018, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Youth League Committee organized more than 40 young pioneers and league member representatives to head for the cemetery of revolutionary martyrs in Anqing city to conduct the tomb-sweeping event with the theme of ‘Cherish the Memory of Our Revolutionary Martyrs and Inherit the Virtue’.
Initially at the memorial square for revolutionary martyrs, student representatives presented fresh flowers before the monument in the solemn national anthem. Then all the teachers and students stood in silent tribute for three minutes to express the deep condolences to the martyrs. Afterwards, led by the host Rao Dan, teachers and students looked at heroes and martyrs from different times with reverence and cherished the memory of hundreds of martyrs who died a glorious death during the First Domestic Revolution, the Agrarian Revolution, the Anti-Japanese War, the period of Liberation War in addition to the period of socialist construction.
In summary, this tomb-sweeping event aimed to educate students to remember the history, inherit the fine traditions as well as enable them to cherish the hard-won happy life, realize the historic responsibility and mission of the age shouldered by the contemporary middle school students to become defenders and builders with moral civilization, scientific and cultural qualities for the cause of socialist revolution and make arduous efforts to realize the great motherland’s ‘Chinese Dream’.
